Nov 29, 2017 · Virtually every 300crd shows glow plug codes, if they start it is not urgent - any intake code is most likely the swirl motor especially with ETC and limp mode often after a short drive, in rare situations the flaps can stick but their default is sprung in the safe position. Codes keep saying throttle body, but we have changed that tWiCe, along with the battery and ERG valve. After checking the codes and resetting them, the car ran fine. It would drop into limp mode after about a minute of running every time without fail, regardless of whether it was driving or idling. Based on my similar experience in des Deutschen Vaterland, I suspect that only the rear sensors give the limp mode problem as, apparently, there is no seperate gearbox output speed sensor on a CRD so the system relies on the combined input of the RH and LH wheel speed sensors.
